OWKU Baseball Season Ends in Regionals

Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball had its season end on Tuesday afternoon in an elimination game in the NAIA Regionals.

The Eagles went 0-2 in two one-run games in the Hattiesburg Regional over the past two days to end its season.

Mid-American Christian beat OKWU 5-4.

It was a tough way for Wesleyan to go down, as OKWU had a 4-0 lead dwindle away. Mid-America scored five unanswered across the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to get the win. Eagles out-hit the Evangels 11-9, but it wasn’t enough.

Victor Sanchez went 2-4 with a home run at the plate. Meanwhile on the mound Kellen Brothers just couldn’t quite get enough outs. Brothers battled, but surrendered all five of the Evangel runs over seven frames. One was unearned on one OKWU error.

Wesleyan ends the year at 35-20 with a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament title.
