Pawhuska Boys, Girls Get Season-opening Wins

 

It was a clean sweep for the Pawhuska Huskies, as both the boys and girls came away with season opening wins on Tuesday night against Tulsa CHEF. The Lady Huskies got out to a 10-0 lead and cruised to a 56-37 win. The boys were in a back and forth tussle the entire way, but escaped with a 43-42 overtime win.

 

In overtime it was the Arrows who scored the first four points, but after a Pawhuska basket and a stop on defense, this three-pointer inside the final minute gave the Huskies the lead for good.

 

Trenton Miles led the way, scoring 15 points for Pawhuska.

 

Hannah Reynolds was the top scorer for the Lady Huskies. She scored the first nine points of the fourth quarter, including this tough bucket right here.

 

Pawhuska now plays in the Alva Tournament this weekend. Starting on Thursday, the boys open with a game against Jones at 2 p.m. and the girls will play at 3:30 p.m. against Deer Creek.
