Stewart Talks Bruin Loss to Union

KWON got a chance to talk with Bartlesville head boys’ basketball coach Clent Stewart following the Bruin’s opening season loss to Union, 67-32 on Tuesday night at Bruin Field House.

Union would end up scoring the game’s first 23 points, which led to the contest never being in doubt.

Bartlesville started a brand new five and worked in 10 guys who have barely played varsity basketball before.

Stewart says once the Bruins calmed down, they did better.

Another factor leading to the Bruin loss, Union’s size. The Redhawks are one of the biggest teams Bartlesville will see all year, with their front line listed at 7-2 and 6-8.

Bartlesville’s tallest player is listed at 6-3 on its roster this year.

Stewart talks about the size differential.

Bartlesville will travel to US Grant for game No. 2, a double-header that starts 30 minutes earlier than usual, at 6:00 for the girls and 7:30 for the guys on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1.
