Wasemiller Stars at State.- Bullen Also Top-10

 

Big time result on Tuesday for some local golfers, as we had two top-10 finishes in our area yesterday.

Congrats to Bruin freshman phenom Jay Wasemiller, who had a terrific couple of days at 6A State. Wasemiller finished at ninth overall after posting a round three 71 on Tuesday at Oaks Country Club in Tulsa.

Wasemiller shot a pair of 73s on Monday, which put him firmly in contention to finish in the top-10 in the state. Wasemiller was the only Bruin who qualified after shooting a 76 at Regionals last week. He will still have three more tries at getting the 6A State championship later in his career.

Another local golfer put himself in the top-10 in 2A. Congrats to Nowata senior Spencer Bullen. Bullen finished up his high school career with an 8th place finish at 2A State on Tuesday.

Bullen was a legitimate threat to win the 2A crown all year but missed golfing for a large portion of the offseason due to an injury.
