Askew Looks to Turn Lady Panthers Around in 2025
The Barnsdall Lady Panthers have been through several basketball coaches over the last couple of years. This year, they have yet another new coach in Gary Askew, who comes from Osage Hills. Askew has also spent time at Copan.
Joe Gilbert was a coach at Barnsdall schools for 66 years. The fieldhouse is named in Gilbert's honor. Askew wants to get the Lady Panthers back to the glory days of what they were under Gilbert's tenure. He talks about what it is going to take to do that.
Askew has 16 girls out on the team, including four seniors. Askew talks about what he plans to do to get Barnsdall back on top.
Barnsdall's first game is Tuesday against Shidler.
