Bartlesville Hoops Begin at Union

Tuesday is the unofficial tip off of high school basketball across the area, as many teams in Osage, Washington and Nowata counties will either begin or continue their seasons this evening.

Bartlesville High is one of those schools, as the Lady Bruins and Bruins will travel down to Tulsa Union High School to take on the Redskins in Frontier Valley Conference Play.

It will be a new-look for both BHS teams, as several prominent basketball players graduated on both the girl’s and boy’s teams this past spring.

Shane Simpson and Adam Nakvinda will be the main two guys back for the Bruin guys. Sixth year BHS head coach Clent Stewart talks about some other names we will hear throughout the season.

Bartlesville is coming off an 11-13 season. Stewart is still searching for his first win against his alma mater, Union High, and his former head coach, in Rudy Garcia.

The girls will tip at 6:30 with the boys to follow around 8:00. Pregame begins about 6:00 PM/

We will have both games on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3. You can also watch the action from the UMAC as well on KWONTV.com.
