Bruin Baseball Knocks off Stillwater

It was the win of the season on Monday night for Bartlesville High baseball, as the Bruins knocked off one of the District’s best on the road.

BHS behind pitcher Kaden Romesburg topped Stillwater, 4-0. The victory gives the Pioneers their first District loss of the season and propels the Bruins toward the top half of 6A District 4.

Here was the final call from Couch Park in Stillwater.

There was not a ton of offensive highlights for either team, the wind was blowing in on a chilly evening, enabling Romesburg to toss six scoreless innings. He worked around six walks and three base hits. Sam Marcella came on to work a three up three down seventh.

Bartlesville was tremendous defensively, this Cy Rigdon, Barrett Merciez and Cooper Swaim double-play retired one of the best high school players in the country.

This year’s possible No. 1 MLB Draft pick in Ethan Holliday went 0-2 with a fly out and that ground into a twin killing.

After the game, head coach Cody Price says that is a big win for the Bruins.

Bartlesville had two hits and worked three bases loaded free passes for RBIs in the game. Jaxon Zaun and Swaim had the base hits.

The win moves BHS to 16-9 on the year and 6-3 in District play. Bartlesville will host Stillwater on Tuesday for game two of the set.

Another 6:00 first pitch from Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium in a game we will have on KWON & KWONTV.com.
