Bruin Running Back Depth on Display

Bartlesville Bruin football is ready to bounce back after their home loss to Sapulpa last week.

BHS fell to the Chieftains 63-58 in an offensive display at Custer Stadium. It was an impressive performance for Bartlesville offensively, especially considering that the Bruin’s starting tailback DeAndre Young was injured with an ankle sprain midway through the third quarter. He was forced to come out of the game with 282 yards already on the ground through 2.5 quarters.

Young’s backup Laken Clowdus came in and didn’t miss a beat. Clowdus rushed for 201 yards and his first two touchdowns of the year. Wednesday night on his weekly radio show on KWON from Hideaway Pizza, Bartlesville head coach Lee Blankenship spoke about his running back depth.

Young has continued to deal with his ankle injury this week and will likely be a game time decision on Friday when Bartlesville travels to Sand Springs to take on the Sandites.

Bartlesville vs. Sand Springs will air on KWON - AM 1400 and FM 93.3. Pregame at 6:30 with a 7:00 PM kick.
