Bruins Open Custer Stadium vs. Collinsville

Bartlesville High football will finally return home to Custer Stadium to take on its Highway 75 rival Collinsville on Friday night, as the Bruins will try to rebound after their loss to Sapulpa a week ago.

Bartlesville will likely be viewed as underdog to most across the state despite taking on a 5A club, as Collinsville has not lost in almost two years. The Cardinals are the defending 5A state champions.

They enter the contest at Custer averaging 52 points-per-game. Meanwhile the Bruin defense has been stout thus far, forcing six turnovers in two games.

Head coach Harry Wright talks about that side of the ball.

Collinsville has won four straight in the series against BHS, including a 42-7 victory a year ago. The preview three wins were all by one score or less. The Cardinals are 2-0 thus far this season, with two blowout wins over 4A opponents in Oologah and Skiatook.

Wright says he wants his team to focus on its effort tonight, and not the opponent’s record on the other sideline.

A 7:00 kickoff with a 6:30 pregame Friday night on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1. You can watch the video livestream on KWONTV.com.

Don’t forget to come out to the Tailgate before the game, as well. On the south side of Custer Stadium after 5:00.
