Coaches Breakfast on Saturday

Two weeks from this Friday, high school football will kick off across Northeast Oklahoma, as Zero Week is quickly approaching on Aug. 28.

Teams all across the area have been practicing for nearly a week now.

At Bartlesville High, the Bruins will have their final practice of the week today before holding something that looks like an intrasquad scrimmage tomorrow at Custer Stadium.

Earlier this week we talked about the quarterback battle between Paxton Bradford and Harrison Clark. Now let’s take a look at a talented and experienced Bruin offensive line.

BHS will be anchored by a trio of returners with multiple years of varsity experience. Head coach Jason Sport talks about the big fellas up front.

Following action on Saturday at Custer, Bartlesville will have another week of practice before heading to Jenks for scrimmages the next week. Coweta is scheduled to visit Custer Stadium for another scrimmage, before the Bruins open up the season against Claremore at Custer Stadium on Sept. 4.

Most other teams across Osage, Washington and Nowata counties will begin their seasons on Aug. 28.

We will hear from all the area head coaches on Saturday morning during our Coaches Breakfast Broadcast, our annual look at high school football across the area.

Show begins at 7:00 AM on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3. You can watch it as well on KWONTV.com.
