Copan Set for Rematch vs. Barnsdall

 

Copan basketball should have a chance to compete in another game on Friday.

The Hornets have a rematch on the road at Barnsdall. The Panthers beat the Hornets 60-37 in Coffeyville during the two clubs last matchup on Jan. 12. Copan got its first win of the season last week, a 46-27 victory at home against South Coffeyville.

It was the first win for Jerry Werts as Copan head coach this season. He talks about the victory.

Copan already knows its district for the playoff, which kick off two weeks from today. The Hornets will host a district with South Coffeyville, Welch and Bluejacket.

Werts says despite his team’s 1-12 record, he thinks Copan can compete in that district.

Copan at Barnsdall, girls tip at 6:30 on Friday with the guys to follow.
