The Dewey Bulldoggers were bested again—this time by Caney Valley. The Trojans came from behind to knock off Dewey, 67-57 on Friday night. Caney Valley used a fourth quarter run to put away its ninth victory of the season.

The game was tied at 42 entering the fourth quarter. The Doggers took the lead on this three-pointer from Levi Remington.

This was the only lead the Doggers held in the second half. Caney Valley would shoot out on a 13-0 run to take a 55-45 lead with three minutes left. Caney Valley would make its free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

The offense didn’t come easy for the Trojans though. The team didn’t hit a field goal for over six minutes to open the game. Dewey led 10-1 early on but then were outscored by double-digits in the second quarter. Other than 20 points from Caden Baughn the Dewey offense was inconsistent. When Caney Valley needed a lift it leaned on Levi Coulter who had 19 points on the game.

The Trojans are now 9-2 while Dewey falls to 2-8. The Trojans will open the 27th Annual Caney Valley with a matchup against Foyil on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. The Doggers will play Adair on the raod next Tuesday as well.
