Indians Baseball to Withdraw From Legion Regional
The Doenges Toyota Indians will not be making the trip to North Carolina to play in the Mid-South Regional.
The Indians do not have enough players to travel to NC to play in a double-elimination regional bracket with a chance to advance to the American Legion World Series for the first time since 1969.
Bartlesville qualified for the regional tournament after winning the state championship on Sunday in Ada. The title was the program's first since 1978 and fourth in the program's 85-year history.
Other signature wins this summer include another Glen Winget Memorial Tournament championship. For the first time since 2003, the Indians repeated as Glen Winget Tournament champions. Bartlesville also won the Bobcat Showcase Tournament in Branson, Mo. in June and advanced to the championship bracket of the Twin Lakes Classic in Mountain Home, Ark.
The Indians finish the summer with an overall record of 23-12-2.
