What was scheduled to be an Oklahoma Wesleyan doubleheader is now just a single game. Lady Eagles head coach Grace Hadley confirmed that the women’s team will not be playing against Kansas Wesleyan on Wednesday. A pending COVID-19 test within the Lady Coyotes program has forced the game to be postponed to February 8.

The OKWU men’s team is still set to play Kansas Wesleyan. The Eagles are looking to bounce back after a 79-72 loss to Southwestern on Monday. OKWU has had a nice home court advantage this season. The Eagles are 5-1 at the Mueller Sports Center this season.

Senior center Janson Lietzke from Owasso has stepped up majorly. Lietzke has scored in double figures (18 pts v. Ottawa, 10 pts. V. SW) in each of the last two games. Prior to that he had averaged just four points per game in conference play. Eagles head coach Donnie Bostwick said he challenged his lone starting senior.

Junior Brooks Haddock has also registered back-to-back 20+ point games. The Eagles are currently tied for third in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference standings. OKWU beat the Coyotes 85-70 in the first matchup on November 17. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. on Wednesday night.
