No. 1 Oklahoma Union Set to Host Playoff Opener

 

The playoff journey will begin Saturday for the top team in Class 2A. Oklahoma Union will battle the winner of Barnsdall and Mounds on Saturday at home. The No. 1 Cougars wrapped up the regular season at 21-1 with its lone loss coming to Fort Gibson, a ranked 4A team.

After finishing just one game shy of the state tournament in 2019 head coach Lee Ott set out to challenge his team with tougher opponents and more games back-to-back days. Ott says the team’s goals for 2020 can still be achieved but he knows several teams will be gunning for them.

The Panthers will be favored to defeat Mounds in the district play-in game on Friday night. Oklahoma Union will host the winner at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
