The Nowata Ironmen will be carrying its non-district losing streak into the 2021 season. With Friday’s 44-14 loss to Vinita the once hallowed program has dropped 13 non-district games in a row dating back to 2016.

The Ironmen lost in lopsided fashion for the third straight week to fall to 0-3 in 2020. Nowata did show several bright spots in the game. The Ironmen defense continues to force turnovers. Kenyon Gray forced and recovered a fumble in the first half. Also, Eli Savala registered a 58-yard interception for a touchdown in the second half. The team has forced seven turnovers on the year.

Quarterback Broden Monroe connected with Emmett Sells on a 77-yard touchdown pass as well. Through three games Monroe has three touchdown passes and just one interception. Nowata head coach Graham Snelding evaluates the season so far.

After their bye this week the Ironmen have a daunting schedule that includes a road trip to Sperry, Adair at home and a rivalry game at Dewey.
