OKU Boys Claim No. 1 Ranking in 2A

 

The Oklahoma Union Cougars challenged themselves against top-tier opponents and they were rewarded. The Cougars are now ranked as the top team in Class 2A, according to OSSAARankings.com. OKU went 2-1 against 4A and 5A teams last weekend in the Old Fort Classic in Fort Gibson. Head coach Lee Ott talks about what this means for the program.

The Cougars jumped up from No. 3 in the latest polls. Oklahoma Union nearly topped 4A #12 Fort Gibson, but came up just short for its first loss of the season. The Cougars did get wins over 5A McAlester and 4A Idabel over the weekend.

OKU is 15-1 on the year. The Cougars will play at Dewey on Tuesday night. A game you can listen to on KRIG 104.9 FM.
