OKWU Baseball Stays Alive in KCAC Tournament

Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball is still alive in the KCAC tournament after picking up two crucial wins on Saturday.
 
OKWU took out York University, 6-5, and got back at Tabor College in the nightcap, 7-2.
 
The Eagles trailed York 4-2 going into the bottom of the fifth before the bats got hot. OKWU put up four runs in their half of the fifth to take a 6-4 lead on the way to winning the ballgame.
 
In the nightcap, OKWU kept the bats hot and was able to keep one of the best offenses in the conference at bay. OKWU pitching held Tabor to two runs on just five hits. The game was scoreless through five innings before OKWU put up five runs in the top of the sixth to break it open. Javier Marcial hit a home run and Chase Pinheiro finished with three hits.
 
The Eagles finished game two with seven runs on 10 hits. Cole Hancock was stellar on the mound. He went the distance with nine strikeouts in nine innings. He walked five and threw 131 pitches.
 
Oklahoma Wesleyan meets Tabor again on Sunday morning with a spot in the KCAC championship game on the line. First pitch is 11 a.m. in Joplin, Missouri. A win and the Eagles meet Kansas Wesleyan for the conference championship at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.
