Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball is back on the floor on Wednesday night for another conference test on the road.

The OKWU basketball teams are coming off a split in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference opener against Tabor. The Lady Eagles fell, 78-46, the Eagle men rolled, 96-78.

On the women's side, the Lady Eagles are looking to bounce back. They are 2-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play after Saturday. Friends enters the contest 3-1, and 0-1 in the KCAC after a 95-88 loss at home to Evangel on Saturday.

Head coach Heidi Messer talked about improving the group's communication.

On the men's side, it's yet another nationally ranked battle. In the latest NAIA rankings, OKWU is slotted 13th in the nation with Friends at 18th. Last season, it was a race between the Eagles and Falcons for the top spot in the regular season in the KCAC.

Friends is 4-1 on the season, with their lone loss on Oct. 25 at home in an eight point loss to the third-ranked team in the country in Northwestern College (Iowa).

Head coach Donnie Bostwick talked about the importance of each conference game.

OKWU and Friends will collide in Wichita, Kan. in a doubleheader on Wednesday night. The Lady Eagles will get the evening started with a 6 p.m. tip-off with the Eagles to follow around 8 p.m. Both games can be heard on Sports Talk, 99.1 FM - KPGM.
