Oologah Expects to Play After Nearly One Month Off

After nearly a month off the Oologah football team is set to take the field against Miami on Friday. The Mustangs lost one game due to a COVID-19 outbreak within their school and lost two more when cases at Grove and Skiatook halted games.

Oologah is 0-2 on the season and last played September 11. Mustangs head coach Darrin Wegner has hardly gotten the chance to see his team in action during his first year on the job. Wegner says the team has learned to flexible during a tumultuous few weeks.

Wegner says the team is treating this Friday’s game with Miami (0-5) like it is another season opener. The Mustangs are hoping the offense hasn’t missed a beat in the time off as they scored 43 between the two games. Friday’s game with the Wardogs is slated for 7 p.m. in Oologah.
