Pawhuska, Oklahoma Union's Playoff Hopes End

Round one of the high school football playoffs wasn't too kind to the remaining teams left playing in Osage, Washington and Nowata Counties on Friday night.

Pawhuska fell on the road at Rejoice Christian 41-8 to end its season.

The Huskies were down 20-0 at halftime after missing some opportunities early on.

They held Rejoice Christian to the least amount of points scored in nearly two months, but Pawhuska struggled offensively. It didn’t any points until late in game when the outcome was decided.

The Huskies end their first season under Matt Hennesy at 6-5. A great result after not winning a game last season.

Pawhuska will return almost everyone from this year’s team in 2019. The Huskies had only one senior.

Oklahoma Union’s season also came to an end.

The Cougars lost at Morrison 34-0. Oklahoma Union got down early and was unable to get anything going offensively.

The Cougars end the year at 5-6 under Stephen Trammel, who is another first-year head coach in the area.

We will have recaps of both those team's terrific seasons later on this week.
