For the first time since 2012 and only the second time since the franchise moved to OKC, the Oklahoma City Thunder are headed to the NBA Finals after winning the Western Conference on Wednesday evening in five games.

OKC took care of the Minnesota Timberwolves, 124-94.

It was mostly a blowout from the start. Oklahoma City scored 39 points in the second quarter, held Minnesota to only nine first quarter points and had a halftime lead of 33.

This three from Jalen Williams was part of the barrage.

Shai Gilegous-Alexander was named Western Conference Finals MVP.

SGA had 34 last night. He averaged 31 points-per-game.

After he got honor he thanked Oklahoma City and his teammates.

The NBA Finals will begin on Thursday June 5 against the winner of the Pacers and Knicks series.

Indiana leads that best of seven 3-1 with game five this Thursday from Madison Square Garden.

Thunder basketball airs on Sports Talk 99.1 FM - KPGM in NE Oklahoma.
