WCS Lends Hand to Southwest Covenant

It was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Wesleyan Christian will not play its football game as scheduled on Friday night. The Mustangs were slated to travel to Yukon to take on Southwest Covenant.

The game has been cancelled, as Southwest Covenant is coping with the loss of one of its football players during a game this past weekend. The contest will not be made up.

Wesleyan Christian had one of its football players pass after an injury during a game in 2015, as Ben Hamm is still remembered today around the Mustang program. WCS head coach Curt Cloud says his club is going to use this week to support their brothers at Southwest Covenant.

As we mentioned in a previous story, Southwest Covenant’s head coach is Trey Cloud, who is the son of Mustang skipper Curt Cloud.

Wesleyan Christian will now be off until its homecoming game on Sept. 27 against Foyil.
